It is a well known fact that health is the most important factor in life. Health prevention is one of the most sought after aims of all institutions, politicians, those responsible for social issues and, of course, by the general public.
It is within this framework that the IHF acts. We are a private and independent organization that has built a forum and meeting point for some of the most representative figures in the health area and we aim to pursue excellence in the Spanish health system in order that patients receive the best attention and care possible.
Since the Foundation began its activity, some four years ago, with the hope of being able to contribute to the improvement in the health field through educational programmes and the encouragement of health habits amongst the general public we have seen a large increase in our activities. This growth has gone hand in hand with our moving inside the exciting world of health care.
What characterizes the IHF is the independence of its programmes as well as the quality and high level of the initiatives carried out.
I must admit that the course we have followed has not been difficult as one of our greatest assets is the quality, both professional and human, of the Board of Trustees, which is made up of some of the most representative figures of the main academic and professional organizations in Spain’s health sector.
The most well know of our initiatives is the International Health Fair, whose first edition took place in 2004. The fair is a unique event of these characteristics in our country as it is based around the spreading of and training in health issues. It is an ideal place for professionals of the health sector and the general public to meet in a more relaxed environment and see together the latest advances in health issues. The innovating concepts of the fair, as well as the results obtained have consolidated and situated it as a reference in the health field.
Among the other areas of activity carried out by the Foundation we could highlight the FISALUD forum for Health Excellence, a meeting point for discussion with the presence of significant personalities from the health sector, ongoing training programmes for professionals, the Health Observatory and the FISALUD awards.
