The International Health Foundation (IHF) is an independent, private organization that was set up at the end of 2003. Since the beginning the IHF has concentrated its efforts on developing activities designed to promote health issues and concerns; encourage training and education directed towards the general public as well as specific training for health service professionals.

The IHF shows its willingness of service to the society by the help that it gives to the least favoured countries and the most needy people This help is carried out by collaborating in health training within the population and helping these people in need to obtain the latest medical treatment and technological advances.

In this way the IHF tries to contribute to the efforts to help the least fortunate people improve their health. This, in turn, will allow them to live longer and with a greater quality of life so permiting them to contribute to the economic development of their respective countries.

Moreover the Foundation is a meeting point where professionals, institutions and the general public are able to reflect on issues that most concern them. With professionalism and experience the different actors and people responsible in the health sector can debate issues and try to achieve consensus about the different matters that are continually being raised.

The members who make up the board of governers of the Foundation are some of the most important and representative fugures of the health sector in Spain. Their commitment with health matters is clearly shown by the implication in the iniciatives of the Foundation in terms of health education and prevention.

To achieve its ends the Foundation has followed a strategy of collaboration and close relationships with the main institutions, public and private organizations of the health sector and as a result of the mutual trust generated by the rigour, quality and independence of the initiatives carried out.

Our guidelines for action are divided in to six main areas; international humanitary cooperation, training programmes, the Internationl Health Fair, the FISALUD forum for health excellence, the FISALUD observatory and awarding of prizes.

In this web page we place at the disposition of those that are interested in the information about the activities carried out by the IHF as well as encouraging all those bodies, both private and public, that would like to share with us the goal of promoting health issues to make contact with the IHF and help to widen the spreading of information and training that we have been undertaking.
